General Meeting Information

Attire

Casual or business casual attire is appropriate for all events at this year's meeting. Because meeting room temperatures can vary, we recommend that you bring a light jacket or sweater with you to the sessions.

Cell Phones/Contacting of a Meeting Participant

During the plenary sessions and workshops, cell phones should be turned off or put on a silent/vibrate mode to minimize the disruptions for presenters and participants. If your colleagues or family need to reach you during the meeting, they may contact the hotel's main number (202)-393-1000 and ask for the STAM Registration Desk. In an extreme emergency, meeting staff members will try to locate you in a session. For nonemergencies, messages will be taken and posted on the message board near the registration desk.

Climate

In late July the average high temperature in Washington, D.C., is approximately 87° F; the average low is 67° F. Summers in Washington, D.C., can be hot and humid.

The Capital Hilton also has wireless internet available within the lobby area and in the guest rooms for your personal laptop. The daily fee is $12.95 for 24 hours.
