State and Territory Child Care Administrators Meeting. Strengthening Partnerships: Forging Future Foundations, July 29-30, 2008, Mandarin Oriental, Washington, DC
 

General Information

Please register for the State and Territory Child Care Administrators Meeting by clicking here.

Meeting registrations will be accepted until July 10, 2008. Participants who register for the meeting will receive a confirmation notice and other relevant information in advance of the meeting. If you do not receive your confirmation by July 15, please call the CMC office at 240-683-1745 or send an e-mail to kprue@ccb-cmc.org. If you miss the deadline, on-site registrations will be accepted on a space available basis.

Please Note: There is no registration fee for this meeting.

State and Territory Administrators Support

CMC on behalf of the Child Care Bureau will be supporting the State and Territory CCDF administrator and one additional staff person to attend from each State. Information on this travel support will be sent to the administrator directly. If you are the administrator and have not received the information or have questions, please contact Laura Morella at 240-631-3944 or e-mail her at lmorella@ccb-cmc.org

General Meeting Information

Attire
Casual or business casual attire is appropriate for all events at this year’s meeting. Because meeting room temperatures can vary, we recommend that you bring a light jacket or sweater with you to the sessions.

Cell Phones/Contacting a Meeting Participant
During meeting sessions and workshops, cellular phones should be turned off or put on silent/vibrate to minimize disruptions for presenters and participants. Many of the plenary sessions and selected workshops will be filmed, so please be mindful of your cell phone usage and the noise levels during the sessions. If your colleagues or family need to reach you during the meeting, they may contact the hotel's main number (202-554-8588) and ask for the STAM Registration Desk. In an extreme emergency, conference staff will try to locate you in the sessions. For non-emergencies, messages will be taken and posted on the message board near the registration desk.

Climate
In late July, the average high temperature in Washington, DC is approximately 87 degrees Fahrenheit; the average low is 67 degrees Fahrenheit. Summers in Washington, DC can be hot and humid.

Staying Connected
Computers with internet access will be available during the meeting registration hours at kiosks located near the registration desk. The terminals will be available on a first come, first serve basis. We would like participants to limit access time to 10 minutes. The Mandarin Oriental also has wireless internet available within the lobby area and the guest rooms for your personal lap top. The daily fee is $15 for 24 hours or $35 for 3 days. The hotel also has a business center with computer access and additional equipment for a fee.
